UDID Card Sample Image What is Unique Disability ID/Swavlamban Card Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities has rolled out swavlamban card also called Unique Disability ID (UDID) to provide a unique identity for the persons with disabilities throughout India. The main purpose of this scheme is to create National Database of PwDs and to ensure transparency, efficiency, and ease of delivering Government benefits to them and ensuring uniformity as well. The project will also help in stream-lining the tracking of physical and financial progress of beneficiary at all levels of hierarchy of implementation at village level, block level, District level , State level and National level.
